At the Sports Center of the S.S. Lazio in Formello, the President of the ASD Scopigno Cup Fabrizio Formichetti, presented Ciro Immobile with the Manlio Scopigno 2022 award as the best player in Serie A. The forward Immobile, away with the team in Florence, was unable to attend the ceremony delivery of the Scopigno and Pulici prizes.
This is the third Scopigno award for Immobile, in addition to those won in 2018 and 2020.
This is the motivation expressed by the jury: “Award for the best player in the league to Ciro Immobile who wins the prestigious award for the third time. The Lazio bomber is collecting trophies, several times king of goal in Italy and with the biancocelesti. All combined with an indisputable class and humility that make him one of the most representative symbols of our football”.
To vote for the awards, the jury made up of prestigious names in sports journalism and former footballers, chaired by Dino Zoff.
“From the point of view of the Scopigno Cup, ambassador of the Province of Rieti and its tourist, cultural and gastronomic excellences – Formichetti said – typical local products were also delivered to Ciro Immobile: Sano, Caseificio Storico Amatrice, Amatrice Terra Viva and Sabina DOP oil”.
